Summary
r2p delivered an integrated onboard CCTV solution for 350 city buses in Germany, enabling a major public transport operator to monitor vehicle interiors remotely and access live video footage directly from its central control centre.
The project focused on establishing a reliable video surveillance infrastructure that combines onboard recording technology with real-time connectivity and automated system monitoring. Through mobile communication routers, CCTV recorders are connected to the control centre, allowing authorised personnel to access live camera images and monitor the operational status of system components.
As part of a multi-year framework agreement, r2p supplied the essential video surveillance components, including compact recording units with removable storage, analogue cameras, mobile routers and the necessary equipment racks and wiring harnesses.
A key feature of the solution is the automatic monitoring of CCTV system components. By regularly checking their operational status, the system supports early identification of potential technical issues and reduces the need for manual inspections.
The result is a connected CCTV infrastructure that combines onboard video recording, centralised live monitoring and automated system checks, supporting efficient fleet supervision and reliable public transport operations.
