Summary
r2p supplied a modern IP-based onboard video surveillance solution for a new generation of low-floor trams operating in Germany, supporting the integration of reliable CCTV technology directly during vehicle production.
The project focused on equipping the new trams with a compact and efficient digital video surveillance system designed to meet the requirements of modern urban rail transport.
Each tram is equipped with an R16-X SLIM video recorder and eight CD9 IP cameras, providing a consistent onboard CCTV configuration across the vehicles. The combination of IP-based camera technology and centralised onboard recording enables video surveillance throughout the passenger areas.
By supplying the CCTV components directly to the vehicle manufacturer, r2p supported the integration of the video system into the trams during the production process. This approach allows surveillance technology to be incorporated into the vehicle design from the outset.
The result is a standardised IP video surveillance solution that supports onboard monitoring and demonstrates r2p’s expertise in supplying CCTV technology for modern light rail vehicles.
